Our Story

Our farm has an interesting story that highlights the ability to adapt and innovate that is essential in the agricultural sector.
In the 1980s, the agricultural business was founded in the countryside of Ilbono, 2 km from the town of Loceri, and was mainly devoted to crop cultivation and the breeding of pigs, sheep, and cattle.
During the 1990s, despite a promising start with satisfying sales and investments that led to the expansion of the facilities, the business began to suffer from the market crisis and experienced significant losses, including the death of 600 pigs.
To recover from this serious setback, Gianni and Tonina, driven by their passion for the land, animals, and their desire to enhance the area’s tourism potential, developed the idea of converting part of the farm into an agriturismo.
The stables were transformed into guest accommodation, with 10 rooms with private bathrooms, a restaurant hall, and later also an educational farm.
This change has allowed—and still allows—Agriturismo Su Barraccu to offer a different kind of holiday experience, based on hospitality, local cuisine, and the opportunity to get closer to the essence of rural life and farming activities.
Gianni and Tonina, wishing to pass on knowledge and values, involved their four children in the business: Adriano, Emanuela, Giorgio, and Fabiana. All of this is carried out with great love.
